Ideal Candidate (Requirements):

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in drilling engineering and operations
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to create a drilling program from the ground up
  • Creative individual, capable of analyzing and solving problems
  • Ability to analyze large datasets (geologic, drilling, and cost) and use conclusions to drive exploration improvements
  • Advanced safety, well control, equipment, and operational knowledge
  • Working knowledge of government regulations and permitting requirements
  • Good communicator and a team-first mindset
  • Able to travel as needed

Ideal Candidate (Nice to haves):

  • Technical experience in material sciences (casing & cement), fluid system chemistry, and geology
  • Experience modeling downhole dynamics, rock-bit interactions, and drilling-formation fluid interactions
  • Unconventional, horizontal drilling experience. Experience in geothermal and other types of drilling experience also preferred

Job Responsibilities:

  • Planning, design, and execution of drilling program
  • Includes pad construction, cost estimates, permitting, regulatory compliance, wellbore design, procedures, vendor selection, service contracts, procurement, testing execution, safety controls, drilling operations, and cost control
  • Determine best practices to achieve optimum drilling performance and wellbore integrity
  • Work with Koloma team members to deliver key objectives for all new drilling projects, including testing execution and new-technology trials
  • Perform research and technical studies on well construction in complicated subsurface environments
